April Crafty Goals Recap (2020)

In January, I shared my 2020 crafty goals with you. If you missed it, you can check it out here. I decided that I’m going to do a monthly recap of my crafty goals both to keep me on track, but also share my progress with you. Here is my April crafty goals recap.

Like I mentioned, I wanted to do a little recap of my monthly crafty goals to help keep me on track. I have so much going on, so I thought it would be easier to break down my goals by month so it wouldn’t seem so overwhelming. I also realized I set other crafty goals for myself that I didn’t initially include in my 2020 crafty goals, so I will include them in these monthly recaps instead.

APRIL CRAFTY GOALS RECAP

Design More Crochet Patterns

This month, I designed two crochet patterns. I had some Lion Brand Mandala yarn in my stash, so I wanted to use that up in a pattern. I looked around at my Crochet 101 tutorials and picked out a stitch. I decided to make a blanket using the woven stitch.

For the other pattern, I was looking around Pinterest for ideas when I stumbled across some pastel baby blankets. I knew I had to make a pastel blanket, so I quickly ordered some yarn from hobbylobby.com so I could get started. Once the yarn arrived, I had to settle on a stitch to use. I ended up using a simple half double crochet stitch working in the back loops only. I LOVE how this blanket turned out!!

Prepare for Craft Fair

With the craft fair officially being cancelled and the stay-at-home order extended until the end of May, I have ceased making anything for the craft fair. However, I am thinking about ideas for the fall craft fair, provided there is one. I want to add different things than I have in the past. I’ll probably work on that little by little throughout the next couple of months.

Make at Least 10 YouTube Videos

I’m still relatively new when it comes to making YouTube videos. However, I really want to make it more of a point to make more videos consistently and share my crochet tutorials and patterns through video format. That’s why I made it a goal to make at least 10 video this year. So far, I made a total of 7 videos! I had no idea I had accomplished so much already!

Etsy Collections

I’m still working on adding different collections to my Etsy Shop. For the month of April, I added Cotton Blankets in a variety of patterns. I bought a lot of Caron Cotton Cakes when they first came out, so I knew I wanted to use them up in my newest collection. I’m so happy with how they turned out!

Right now, I’m working on adding pastel blankets, which will be released sometime in May. Adding blanket collections has been a lot of fun as it allows me to explore different options and create something for everyone. Periodically I’ll go back to previous collections and decide if I want to add any other blankets to that collection or not. I’m having a lot of fun with this, and can’t wait to decide what collection to add next!

Ongoing Crafty Goals Update

Yarn Skeins Used- 20 skeins/7,263 yards

Create More Worry Less- I decided each month to go through my stash and use up any leftover yarns for charity projects. I’m making pet beds to donate to Comfort for Critters. I made a total of 2 pet beds for charity this month.

That concludes my April crafty goals recap. Thank you so much for sticking around and seeing my progress. I hope this inspires you to set some crafty goals for yourself as you never know what you’re capable of doing.
