Arctic Cowl

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my newest crochet pattern, the Arctic Cowl. This crochet textured cowl is quick to make and can be easily customized to be wider or taller. You can use whatever color you like, even to match your winter coat. Because of the bulkiness of this cowl, it will keep you cozy warm this winter season.

For the Arctic Cowl, I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Chunky Yarn. However, you can use whatever bulky weight yarn you’d like. I also used a size L-11 (8.0mm) crochet hook. I highly recommend using my favorite crochet hooks, Clover Amour. You will also need a tapestry needle and a pair of scissors. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Materials:

  • (3) skeins of Hobby Lobby I Love This Chunky Yarn
  • L-11 (8.0mm) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Size:

12″ H x 13″ circumference

Notes:

  • If you would like to change the sizing of your cowl, keep your chain in a multiple of 2.
  • This cowl is worked in a continuous round. You will not turn after each round.
  • If you would like a more snug fit, reduce the number of chains made. I suggest wrapping the chain around your neck to get an estimate of how your cowl will fit.
  • If you want to change the height of your cowl, simply make more or less rounds until you reach the desired height.
  • If you don’t want to count rounds, just work continuously until your cowl measures about 12 inches in height (or desired height).

Amanda

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! I’m Amanda, the crochet addict behind-the-scenes. I was always interested in crafting and being creative. One day I decided to learn how to crochet. I was instantly drawn to crochet and thought it was incredible how you could make something out of yarn and a hook. I guess you can say I’ve been ‘hooked’ ever since. Feel free to email me at amandacrochets@yahoo.com with any questions.
