Basket Weave Baby Blanket Pattern

Hey everyone! Today I’m sharing my Basket Weave Baby Blanket pattern with you. This beautiful blanket is made using a basket weave stitch, which is very dense and warm. You can check out my basket weave tutorial here. This blanket can be made in a variety of colors and can made in any size you’d like as long as you have the right multiples.

This basket weave blanket is made with Caron Big Cake yarn in the color Summer Berry Tart. I also used a size J-10 Clover Amour Crochet Hook. You can check out a review of my favorite hooks here. The finished size of this basket weave blanket is 38”x35”. Gather your supplies and let’s get started!

Basket Weave Baby Blanket

Materials:

Finished Size:

38” x 35”

Notes:

The basket weave baby blanket pattern is worked in a multiple of 8+7. This means you will chain 8+8+8 until your desired length and add 7 more chains to the end.

Basket Weave Baby Blanket Pattern:

Ch 143

Row 1: Dc in the 3rd ch from your hook and in each ch across. Ch 2 and turn.

Row 2: Fpdc in the 2nd dc and in the next 3 dcs. Bpdc into the next 4 dcs. *Fpdc in the next 4 dcs, bpdc in the next 4 dcs. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Next, make a hdc into the top of your ch 3 from the beginning. Ch 2 and turn.

Row 3: *Bpdc into the next 4 fpdc from the previous row. Fpdc into the next 4 bpdc from the previous row. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Next, make a hdc into the top of the ch stitch from the beginning of the row. Ch 2 and turn.

Row 4: *Make a bpdc into the next 4 stitches. Make a fpdc into the next 4 stitches. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Next, make a hdc into the final ch stitch. Ch 2 and turn.

Row 5: *Fpdc into the next 4 stitchs. Bpdc into the next 4 stitches. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Next, make a hdc into the ch stitch from the beginning. Ch 2 and turn.

Row 6 and up: Repeat rows 2-5 until desired length. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
