BeCraftee Crochet Hook Set Review

Hi everyone! Today I’ll be reviewing the BeCraftee Crochet Hook Set. If you are a beginner crocheter and are unsure what to purchase, the BeCraftee Crochet Hook Set is perfect to help get you started.

A representative from the company reached out to me and asked if I was interested in reviewing their product. Of course, I said YES! I received this set to review. However, all opinions are my own. You may see some affiliate links, which doesn’t cost you anything, but I do receive a small commission. Let’s begin the review!

BECRAFTEE CROCHET HOOK SET

OVERVIEW OF THE BECRAFTEE CROCHET HOOK SET

Upon first glance, you see that this set comes in a zippered pouch. This case features a white polka dot design with a royal blue background. Their logo is featured on the bottom front of the case. The case itself feels like it has a hard, cardboard feel to it, which makes it feel sturdy. Overall, I think it’s a pretty decent crochet hook case.

The one thing I would change about this case is that I wish there were more color and design options. As of right now, they only have this blue option and the same polka dot design, but with a red background. If they had more color and design options, I think they could appeal to a wider audience.

INSIDE THE CROCHET CASE

When opening up the case, you can see all the goodies packed inside. The first thing I noticed was a coupon code, which gives you 20% off your next order when used within the next three months. They also offer a lifetime warranty of their product. On the other side, they have a crochet hook conversion chart, which is always handy for beginner crocheters.

Crochet Hooks

You also get 9 ergonomic crochet hooks ranging from size B/2.25mm through J/6mm. Each crochet hook has a different color handle as well as the size printed on the back and the size imprinted onto the front of the handle. These crochet hooks remind me of my favorite Clover Amour hooks in a way. The BeCraftee Crochet Hook Set is very comfortable and makes crocheting go by quickly due to the hooks being lightweight. The yarn seems to glide easily and doesn’t seem to snag.

One of the things I noticed about these crochet hooks is that the rubber handle seems to get dirty at the top (see photos below). I’m not sure exactly why that is, but I feel like I can peel the black “dirt” away.

Accessories

The BeCraftee Crochet Hook Set also comes with some great accessories. Included is a gauge measure ruler. This is very helpful if you have some older metal crochet hooks that don’t have any size listed on them. It can also help when you’re trying to make sure your gauge matches the gauge listed in a pattern.

The mesh zipper pouch in the middle also contains some goodies. This pouch can easily be removed by snapping it on or off. Inside, you will find some stitch markers, tape measure, stitch holders, six plastic tapestry needles, a pair of scissors, and a row counter. Anything you would need as a beginner is included in this BeCraftee Crochet Hook Set.

LIKES/DISLIKES

Some of the things I enjoy about this crochet hook set is the fact that the hooks are color coded and are lightweight. This makes it easier to crochet without cramping up. I’ve been able to crochet for hours using these hooks without my hands hurting or cramping up at all. Having the hook size imprinted into the rubber handle is nice as well.

I also really like the mesh pouch containing all the crochet accessories. My favorite accessory is probably the scissors as you can fold them up, which is great for traveling.

As far as what I would change, I would like to have more case options. I think having a few different designs and colors would be nice to choose from besides the standard blue and red options.

I also didn’t like how the crochet hooks started to get dirty at the top after using them. This makes me wonder if the quality is lacking a little.

I’m not a huge fan of plastic tapestry needles as I feel like these can break easily. I prefer to use metal tapestry needles, but that’s just my preference. However, I do like that this set comes with six tapestry needles in two different sizes. Let’s be honest, we’ve all lost a tapestry needle or two, so having extras on hand really helps!

The last thing I didn’t like was the row counter. Maybe mine is defective, but I felt like no matter how hard I tried to twist the ends, the numbers never changed. If it did work, this would be really handy when trying to keep track of how many rows you’ve made in a project.

OVERALL IMPRESSION

Overall, I feel like this is a great beginner set to have if you’re just learning how to crochet. This hook set comes with all the basic supplies you need to help get you started on your crochet journey. With so many options out there, the BeCraftee Crochet Hook Set is a great beginner staple!
