Christmas Plaid Throw Blanket

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my newest crochet pattern, the Christmas Plaid Throw Blanket. This handmade throw blanket is made using beginner stitches. It is the perfect afghan for the upcoming holidays as well!

For the Christmas Plaid Throw Blanket, I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn. However, you can use whatever #4 worsted weight yarn you’d like. I also used a size J-10 (6.00 mm) crochet hook. I highly recommend using my favorite crochet hooks, Clover Amour. You will also need a tapestry needle and a pair of scissors. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Christmas Plaid Throw Blanket

Materials:

  • (2) skeins each of Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Cranberry, Forest, and Linen
  • J-10 crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Size:

36×55

Notes:

  • You can change up the sizing of this blanket by making a chain multiple of 6+5. This means you will multiply any number by 6. Once satisfied, you will add 5 chains to the very end.
  • Chain 3 counts as a double crochet stitch.
  • You will change colors every row. Do not fasten off each color. Instead, you will carry the yarn up the sides and pick up the new color.

If you would like to purchase an ad-free version of this pattern, you can do so here.

Amanda

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! I’m Amanda, the crochet addict behind-the-scenes. I was always interested in crafting and being creative. One day I decided to learn how to crochet. I was instantly drawn to crochet and thought it was incredible how you could make something out of yarn and a hook. I guess you can say I’ve been ‘hooked’ ever since. Feel free to email me at amandacrochets@yahoo.com with any questions.
