Today I’m going to give you a sneak peek and give you a crochet room tour! I have a spare bedroom in my condo that I use to keep all of my yarn, crochet projects, and other supplies. You will get a behind-the-scenes look at my crochet room, which I also happen to share with my two adorable rabbits Pixie and Rocky. While my crochet room isn’t complete, (is it ever really complete?) I am happy with it because it’s me. I love having my own area where I can display some of my yarn as well as some of my finished crochet projects. To me, it’s easier to try and keep everything contained in one area. Without further ado, here is my crochet room tour!
Overall, I wanted my room to feel girly and pretty, which is why I went with a light purple color for the walls. This light purple color is called Grape Mist by Sherwin Williams. I fell in love with this soft purple color immediately when I set my eyes on it. I also wanted to keep any furniture white, if possible, as I felt like this would make them pop against the purple walls. Next, I added gray and white chevron curtains to pull the look of the room together. I LOVE a chevron print, so I knew I wanted to incorporate that into my crochet room somehow.
When we first enter my crochet room, you’ll see my yarn storage. I purchased this storage unit on michaels.com when they were having a sale. It was fairly easy to put together, but I had my fiancé help me lift the unit when it became too heavy. I purchased the light purple and blue fabric bins on Amazon. There are many different colors to choose from, but I went with these two colors as I felt that it would complement the light purple walls perfectly. I am so in love with this storage unit as I feel I have enough space to display and store my yarn while still having a few extra cubbies to put completed projects. It’s also an excuse that I need to buy more yarn.
I keep my yarn stored by color rather than by brand. I find it easier to find what I need this way. However, I seem to have more of certain colors than others, so some of the bins randomly have a few different colors in them. I also have my Caron Cake yarns displayed because they’re just too pretty to keep in the fabric bins.
Some of my favorite yarn brands are Caron Cake, Bernat Softee Baby, and Deborah Norville Every Day, all of which I reviewed. I find that these yarns are super soft and a pleasure to work with on various projects. I also have a crochet baby blanket pattern using the Caron Cake yarn.
On top of my storage unit I have my Harry Potter Funko Pops. Eventually I would like to install some shelves to put them as they’re kind of taking over. Once this happens, it’ll free up more space to put something else.
Next to my storage unit I have an IKEA cart. I own two of these carts (the other one is located next to my couch). I love these carts because they hold a lot of items and they’re mobile. The turquoise color complements the room nicely as well. Right now, this cart holds my current mint and pink collections, which are available in my Etsy Shop.
Next, I have a mini book shelf. This is where I keep my Harry Potter books, crochet books and magazines, camera, and my crochet pattern binder. Behind the bookshelf I have some white boards that I use when taking photos of my crochet items.
In front of the windows I have this mobile file cabinet where I keep all of my business papers and receipts from purchases. I’m in the middle of reorganizing these files as it’s a little all over the place right now. I was able to get this from work as we were selling it.
Last but not least, we have the closet, which again is shared with the bunny supplies. On these shelves I have extra crochet supplies, thank you cards, shipping supplies, and even some more yarn. On the left, I have two storage bins where I keep all my finished crochet items I sell at craft fairs. These items are already tagged and ready to go.
