Farmhouse Dishcloth

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my newest crochet pattern, the Farmhouse Dishcloth. This is a beginner-friendly crochet pattern that provides a little bit of texture to scrub your dishes. You can also use this as a washcloth to exfoliate your skin.

The Farmhouse Dishcloth is made using 100% cotton yarn in three different colors. However, this cotton dishcloth would be pretty in just about every color combination out there. The possibilities are truly endless!

For the Farmhouse Dishcloth, I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton and Lion Brand Pima Cotton. However, you can use whatever cotton yarn you’d like. I also used a size H-8 (5mm) crochet hook. I highly recommend using my favorite crochet hooks, Clover Amour. You will also need a tapestry needle and a pair of scissors. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

Materials:

Size:

9×9

Notes:

  • To change the size of your dishcloth, you will make a chain in a multiple of 2 plus 3. This means you will multiply any number by 2 to get your desired width. Once satisfied, you will add 3 more chains to the end.
  • The chain 1 and chain 3 count as stitches.
  • Even rows are wrong side rows, odd rows are right side rows. This means the textured side will always be on the same side of the dishcloth.
  • You will end with an odd row so your dishcloth will start and end the same way.
