February Crafty Goals Recap (2020)

March 1, 2020

In January, I shared my 2020 crafty goals with you. If you missed it, you can check it out here. I decided that I’m going to do a monthly recap of my crafty goals both to keep me on track, but also share my progress with you. Here is my February crafty goals recap.

Like I mentioned, I wanted to do a little recap of my monthly crafty goals to help keep me on track. I have so much going on, so I thought it would be easier to break down my goals by month so it wouldn’t seem so overwhelming. I also realized I set other crafty goals for myself that I didn’t initially include in my 2020 crafty goals, so I will include them in these monthly recaps instead.

FEBRUARY CRAFTY GOALS RECAP

Design More Crochet Patterns

This month, I designed one crochet pattern. I was searching around for some ideas, when I stumbled upon a blanket using bobble stitches. I thought this would be a fun design to make and knew just the yarn I wanted to use as well. The Bobble Scarf is made using leftover worsted weight yarn from another project. However, feel free to use whatever yarn you have around the house. This scarf will look great in a solid color or in a variegated color like I used for my scarf.

Prepare for Craft Fair

I participate in a craft fair every spring and fall. Normally, I come up with cute ideas after my craft fair is over. This year, I’m trying to work on a few projects each month in order to stay on top of everything. That way I know I have stock built up instead of waiting until the last minute to make things.

This month, I made two chicken towel toppers, one Christmas stocking, and a bunch of dishcloths. I plan on putting a set of dishcloths together with a little bottle of dish soap.

As I mentioned last month, I made some pot holders with my Cricut Explore Air 2. I bought a few more vinyl designs to add, so I’m excited to see how they do when I debut them at my spring craft fair in April.

Etsy Collections

Earlier this month, I was inspired to make collections for my Etsy Shop. These collections will feature two different baby blanket patterns, matching 0-3 month size hat, and 3-6 month baby sweater.

For the month of February, I decided to start with my gray collection. I wanted to make something neutral as it seems like a lot of nurseries are going for a more modern feel and gray is a popular color.

Ongoing Crafty Goals Update

Yarn Skeins Used- 16 skeins/4,732 yards

Create More Worry Less- I decided each month to go through my stash and use up any leftover yarns for charity projects. I’m making pet beds to donate to Comfort for Critters. I made a total of 6 pet beds for charity this month.

That concludes my February crafty goals recap. Thank you so much for sticking around and seeing my progress. I hope this inspires you to set some crafty goals for yourself as you never know what you’re capable of doing.

Amanda

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! I’m Amanda, the crochet addict behind-the-scenes. I was always interested in crafting and being creative. One day I decided to learn how to crochet. I was instantly drawn to crochet and thought it was incredible how you could make something out of yarn and a hook. I guess you can say I’ve been ‘hooked’ ever since. Feel free to email me at amandacrochets@yahoo.com with any questions.
