Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing with you my newest crochet pattern, the Griddle Stitch Scarf. The Griddle Stitch Scarf is a great beginner-friendly crochet pattern that can be made in a variety of colors or even just a solid color.

The Griddle Stitch Scarf is made using one skein of Caron Tea Cakes. However, you can use any bulky weight yarn you have in your yarn stash. Another great suggestion is Bernat Softee Chunky. I also used a size N-10mm crochet hook. My favorite crochet hooks to use are the Clover Amour. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

GRIDDLE STITCH SCARF

Materials:

  • (1) skein of Caron Tea Cakes (204 yards/240g) or (2) skeins of Bernat Softee Chunky (108 yards/100g)
  • N-10mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Size:

8 W x 53 L

Notes:

  • You can change up the sizing of this scarf by making an odd number of chains
  • You will always dc into a sc and sc into a dc
  • If you change the sizing of your scarf, you will need more yarn

CH 15

Row 1: SC in the 2nd CH from hook, DC in the next CH. Alternate between SC and DC across the entire row. You will end with a DC in the last CH. CH 1 and turn.

Row 2: SC into the DC from previous row, DC in next SC stitch. Alternate SC and DC across the row, ending with a DC in the last stitch. CH 1 and turn.

Repeat Row 2 until you run out of yarn. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

Amanda

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! I’m Amanda, the crochet addict behind-the-scenes. I was always interested in crafting and being creative. One day I decided to learn how to crochet. I was instantly drawn to crochet and thought it was incredible how you could make something out of yarn and a hook. I guess you can say I’ve been ‘hooked’ ever since. Feel free to email me at amandacrochets@yahoo.com with any questions.
