Hey everyone! Today I’m reviewing Moogly’s Saturday Sweater Pattern. I recently found this pattern while doing a search on Pinterest and I instantly fell in love with it. I thought it was an elegant yet simple design. This is a free pattern, which you can find here.

Have you tried this Saturday Sweater Pattern before? Let me know by leaving me a comment below.

Saturday Sweater Pattern

First off, I love how this sweater pattern is available in multiple sizes. This is great, especially if you plan on making this for a gift for someone. This pattern calls for DK weight yarn, which unfortunately I didn’t have. I ended up picking up 3 skeins of Caron Simply Soft in a soft green color as I thought this yarn was thin enough to be comparable to a DK weight yarn. However, if you have DK weight yarn, or the yarn mentioned in the original pattern, you can certainly use that instead.

Working up this sweater was very easy. The pattern was written well and I had no trouble understanding the terminology. One of my favorite things about the Saturday Sweater Pattern is that you can throw it on over a tank and leggings or you can dress it up a little. It’s a very versatile pattern, which makes it a great garment piece. Tamara provides a bunch of helpful notes and links in order to understand how to make the stitches and how to sew your garment to fit you perfectly.

Overall, I enjoyed this Saturday Sweater Pattern and would make this garment again. However, I want to try and use the recommended yarn next time. When using Caron Simply Soft, my sweater came out a little bigger, but that’s not a deal breaker for me. The pattern is written so even a beginner can understand how to construct it and sew it together. This would be a great pattern to wear any day of the week, not just on Saturday.

I hope you enjoyed today’s pattern review on Moogly’s Saturday Sweater Pattern. This is a beginner-friendly pattern that works up quickly. This sweater would look beautiful in many different colors, so feel free to experiment and see what color works best for you. Have you made this pattern before? What are your thoughts? Amanda

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! I’m Amanda, the crochet addict behind-the-scenes. I was always interested in crafting and being creative. One day I decided to learn how to crochet. I was instantly drawn to crochet and thought it was incredible how you could make something out of yarn and a hook. I guess you can say I’ve been ‘hooked’ ever since.
