Sedge Stitch Baby Blanket

Hey everyone! Today I’m sharing my Sedge Stitch Baby Blanket with you. This has been one of my favorite stitches lately, so I thought I’d share a pattern with you. To learn how to make the sedge stitch (video tutorial included), you can refer to my tutorial here.

The Sedge Stitch Baby Blanket is a wonderfully textured blanket that is sure to keep baby warm. This baby blanket is made using basic crochet stitches to create this textured look. Using Red Heart Ombre yarn gives this blanket a beautiful effect without having to switch up colors. To see my review on this yarn, you can check it out here.

To complete the Sedge Stitch Baby Blanket, you will need worsted weight yarn. As mentioned I’m using Red Heart Ombre, but any worsted weight yarn will work. I’m also using an I-9 (5.5mm) crochet hook, scissors, and a tapestry needle. To check out my favorite Clover Amour Hooks, check out my review here. Gather your supplies and let’s begin!

You will skip 2 stitches and make a sc into the turning chain. Chain 1 and turn.

Row 4: Repeat rows 2 and 3 until 36 inches or desired length. If making border, continue below. Otherwise fasten off and weave in ends.

BORDER:

Chain 1 and make 1sc into each stitch around, making 3scs in each corner. Join to beginning with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends.

That completes my Sedge Stitch Baby Blanket! I hope you enjoyed this crochet pattern and give it a try. It would make a perfect gift for a baby shower! I absolutely LOVE the color combinations of the Red Heart Ombre yarn, and know you will as well.
