Valentine Heart Pattern

Today I’m sharing a favorite Valentine heart pattern of mine. Using this free Red Heart pattern, I modified it a little so I can put a few things inside. This Valentine heart pattern is a great way to show your valentine just how much you love them. With this quick and simple project, you can whip these little hearts up in no time! This is also a great way to use up some scrap yarn as well. Make a bunch and fill them with handwritten love notes or candy for your valentine to enjoy!

I made these hearts a few years ago for Tony. I included one love note a day starting from February 1st through February 14th. For this Valentine heart pattern, I used Red Heart Super Saver in Cherry Red, Pretty ‘N Pink, and Aran. I used the same crochet hook size as mentioned in the pattern, which is a I-9. Check out my review of my favorite Clover Amour Hooks here.

To begin, I followed the pattern exactly as it was written. When it came to sewing the front and back of the heart together, I single crocheted around the heart, but left the top of it open. This allowed me to fit each love note inside. You can also include candy or other goodies that your Valentine would enjoy. I ended up making 14 hearts using the 3 different colors and gave Tony one heart a day. He enjoyed this and thought it was creative.

Amanda

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! I’m Amanda, the crochet addict behind-the-scenes. I was always interested in crafting and being creative. One day I decided to learn how to crochet. I was instantly drawn to crochet and thought it was incredible how you could make something out of yarn and a hook. I guess you can say I’ve been ‘hooked’ ever since. Feel free to email me at amandacrochets@yahoo.com with any questions.
