Crochet 200 Questions and Answers Book Review

Hey everyone! Today’s book review is going to be on Crochet 200 Questions and Answers by Rita Taylor. If you are new to the world of crochet, this is a great resource to get answers to all those questions you may have. Even if you’re not a beginner, I feel like you would benefit from learning a new technique you might not have known before. Whether you need help making a stitch or are interested in learning more about Irish crochet, there is something for everyone.

Like the book states, there are 200 different questions and answers. What I like about Crochet 200 Questions and Answers is the fact that it’s not only a hardcover book, but it’s also spiral bound. This means you can easily refer back to your page rather than the book closing on you. This book is also divided into sections to help keep things organized. The sections include: Tools and Materials, How to Start, Basic Stitches, Decorative Stitches, Edgings, Inserts, and Braids, Shaping, Color Work, Working in the Round, Crochet Lace, Following Pattern Instructions, Others Types of Crochet, and Finishing Touches.

While I do feel this book is a great resource of information, the pictures are a little lacking. I understand some of the pictures are smaller in order to fit all the information, but I found some of the pictures to be blurry or a little dark in some spots. This makes it very difficult to understand what exactly the picture is showing. Overall, I think the book could have used a more professional approach when it came to photographing the different images included in this book.

To conclude, I did enjoy Crochet 200 Questions and Answers as I found some helpful information I didn’t know before. It’s interesting to see how many different versions of crochet there is, such as Tunisian, Irish, and tapestry crochet. I enjoyed the section where the author explains how to design your own crochet patterns as that’s what I’m learning about right now. I would recommend this book for beginner crocheters.
