As 2017 comes to an end, I thought I would share my 10 favorite crochet patterns with you. You can find all of these patterns by clicking the link in each section. They are in no particular order. I completed each pattern at least once, and they are my own opinions. It’s no surprise that I have crocheted A LOT this year, but it’s interesting to see what kind of crochet patterns I’m most drawn to in any given year. I hope you enjoy my 10 favorite crochet patterns!

3 Button Cowl

I absolutely LOVE this pattern! I love how versatile this cowl is as you can style it multiple ways. The bulkiness of this cowl keeps me warm on those cold fall/winter days. After looking online, I’ve come up with my own 3 button cowl pattern. You can view the free pattern here.

I plan on making more of these cowls in the future as they’re quick to make. You can make them in various bulky weight yarns to fit your style and personality. You can also pair up this cowl with some different buttons of your choice. These cowls make great gifts for her or even for yourself!

Divine Hat

This is still one of my favorite hat patterns of all time! Designed by Sarah Arnold, this spiral hat is sure to turn heads. I’ve made this hat so many times in many different colors. What can I say? I’m obsessed! I have these hats up for sale in my Etsy Shop in multiple colors. These hats are stylish and will keep you warm during the cold winter months. Envision Cardigan

This is a paid for pattern by Heidi May of The Velvet Acorn. I follow her on social media, so when I first laid eyes upon this cardigan, I knew I had to make this for myself! I substituted the yarn used in the pattern for Lion Brand Heartland yarn. The pattern is very well-written, however, as this was my first cardigan, I had trouble with my stitch count and had to frog it a couple of times before I finally got the stitch count correct. What I love about this pattern is that it’s available in so many different sizes! I may have to make another one in a different color for myself. I will definitely purchase another pattern (or five) from her again!

Waffle Stitch Blanket

This is hands down my most popular blanket! I love the texture of this blanket as it’s super warm and cozy. In my original design, I used 4 skeins of Caron Cake in Rainbow Sprinkles. This is a free pattern on my blog, which you can see here. (Click here for the ad-free pattern)

Margaret Button Cowl

This cowl is designed by Jennifer of Fiber Flux. I love the simplicity of this design, but it’s also a very interesting design as well. You can wear this cowl over your shoulders or use the button to wear it as a wrap. I’ve made this cowl using bulky weight yarn. Click here for the free pattern.

Coverlet Blanket

Someone in my crochet group was making this blanket and I was intrigued by how beautiful it looked. She ended up going on vacation for our next class, but I was determined to find the pattern. Once she gave me this pattern, I had to make this blanket immediately! I modified this pattern slightly as I was just testing it out. I used one skein of Lion Brand Pound of Love, so the blanket came out smaller than the original pattern. Even though I wasn’t a fan of this yarn, I was very happy with the results of this blanket. I thought it turned out beautiful! I’m sure I’ll make this blanket again in the future.

Coffee Cup Key Chains

This is a cute pattern by Sarah of Repeat Crafter Me. I thought these little key chains were so adorable! I bought four different colors of yarn and made a bunch for an upcoming craft show. The cute little face on them are perfect, and people seem to get a kick out of them as well.

Puppy Love Slouch Hat

I love the design of this hat as it’s really a simple design. I love how versatile this hat is because you can change up the colors of the hearts to be one color, two colors, or even have an ombre effect going on. Both kids and adults would love this hat as it’s super cute, especially topped with a pom on top. You can find the free pattern here.

Attic 24 Bag

Lucy of Attic 24 knows how to pair many different colors together. Her blog and her projects are always so colorful, it makes me just want to smile. When I first discovered her bag pattern, I knew I wanted to create my own version of this bag. I ended up making this bag using one Caron Cake in the color Rainbow Sherbet. I use it daily to carry my planner, pencil case, and a few other things I may need.

Cable Beanie by Ami

I have never done a cable before as I’ve always thought they were too complicated. However, these cable hats, and even cable blankets, are turning up everywhere. I was looking for a simple cable hat to make, when I stumbled across this pattern. This cable beanie was written extremely well and it was so easy and quick to work up. Once you understood the method of the cables, it was an easy repeat pattern. I was so excited to see how this hat would turn out. To complete this hat, I added a faux fur pom on top and it came out great! I could definitely see myself making more of these hats in the future. Click here for the free pattern.

There are my 10 favorite crochet patterns of the year.
